From Professional Football to High Performance Coaching

From Professional Football to High Performance Coaching

ORIGIN

My journey in football started in Dakar, Senegal, and continued in The Gambia, where I was raised before moving to the United States as a teenager
with one goal - to make it in football.

RISE

My professional career began in the USL before I earned my place in
Major League Soccer (MLS). Playing for clubs like the New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo, and Colorado Rapids, I experienced what it takes to compete at the highest level.

One of the defining moments came in 2010.
I helped the Colorado Rapids win the MLS Cup - pushing through injury and sacrificing everything to contribute when it mattered most.

GLOBAL EXPERIENCE

My journey didn’t stop in the United States. I challenged myself across different leagues and cultures, playing in Europe and the Middle East - including Greece, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Finland.

Competing at a high level, I also had the opportunity to play in UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualification matches, gaining experience in high-pressure environments where performance and focus are critical.

In Finland, I found some of my strongest seasons, winning the Veikkausliiga and Finnish Cup with HJK Helsinki and later earning individual recognition with FC Honka.

MEANING

Football gave me more than a career. It taught me discipline, consistency, and the mental strength required to perform under pressure.

At the highest level, talent is never enough. What separates players is their mindset, their habits, and their ability to stay consistent over time.

TRANSITION TO COACHING

These experiences shaped how I approach coaching today.

MMBF Coaching is built on everything I learned throughout my career - helping athletes and individuals develop not just physically, but mentally, with structure, discipline, and consistency.

Because real performance is not just about what you do once - it’s about what you do consistently.

BEYOND FOOTBALL

Beyond my professional career, giving back has always been part of my journey.

Through the Kandji Foundation, I focus on creating opportunities and supporting the development of the next generation.

Because success is not only defined by performance - but by the impact you leave beyond the game.
